Persian kalam polo (Cabbage and rice)
Kalam polo is a type of delicious mixed Persian rice. Like most recipes, this one also has many different versions and all are delicious. Different techniques are used in preparing this rice but the basic ingredients, cabbage, meat, and rice are used in all versions. Persian kalam polo (Cabbage and rice)
|Minced cabbage||3 glasses|
|Cooked rice||2 glasses|
|Chopped onion||1 pcs|
|Ground beef||2 glasses|
|Tomato paste||4 tbsp|
|Salt and pepper||required an amount|
|Turmeric||required an amount|
|Oil||required an amount|
Step 1: Heat the oil in a pan, pour onions and start to saute.
Add meat and saute with onions.
Step 2: Pour turmeric and tomato paste then mix and stir well.
Add cabbage to the mixture and pour some salt and pepper.
Step 3: Pour some oil in a pot then add half of rice and meat mixture. Stir and mix together.Add a layer of rice and meat mixture again.
Cook over medium heat for 30 minutes.
