Sabzi polo ba mahi (Herb rice with fish)

Sabzi Polo (herb rice) and Mahi (fish) is traditionally serve for the Persian new year. Persian New Year is celebrate every year to signify the beginning of spring and most of the dishes served during Norooz holidays have herbs as a symbol of rebirth, and fish that represents life.

 

Ingredients

Ingredients Qt
Rice  1 glass
Salmon fish  1 pcs
Chopped dill  1/4 cup
Chopped parsley  1/4 cup
Chopped coriander  1/4 cup
Chopped scallion  1/4 cup
Turmeric  1 tbsp
Salt and pepper  required amount
Oil  required amount

Preparation

Step 1: Wash rice a few times, then pour it in a pot and add water, all vegetables and enough salt and oil.

Stir the rice well and let it cook for 30 minutes.

 

Step 2: Pour some oil in a pan, rub turmeric, salt and pepper to a fish.

Let it fry both sides until golden and crispy.

 

Step 3: Serve it with rice.
