Koofteh is very famous in Iran. It originates in Tabriz. Tabriz is are known to make the best Koofteh Tabrizi, because after all when a food is named after your city, it has to be worth that honor!
|Cooked Split peas||1/2 cup|
|Minced meat||300 gr|
|Cooked rice||1 cup|
|Fried onion||2 tbsp|
|Tomato paste||2 tbsp|
|Flavor vegetable||required amount|
|Salt and pepper||required amount|
Step 1: At first, grate the split peas and pour it in a bowl.
Add meat. Mix rice with vegetables and add it to ingredients.
Step 2: Pour spices.
Using your hands to mix everything together. You need to really mix everything well, working the mixture with your hands for a few minutes until it starts to stick to your hands
Step 3: For prepare koofteh sauce, pour some oil in a pot and saute the onions. Then add tomato paste and saute together.
Pour enough water to cover it.
Step 4:Make compact baseball-sized meatballs and place walnuts in the middle of each.
Place it on the sauce and let it cook for 1 hour.
